SmartRTW

An AI-powered return-to-work engine for Victorian workers.

Funded by WorkSafe Victoria
Opposite x Murdoch University
Oct 2025 to Sep 2027

WHAT IS
SmartRTW?

An ethical AI-powered platform supporting mentally injured employees and the leaders guiding their return to work.

Co-designed by psychologists and AI researchers. Grounded in clinical best practice, regulatory standards, and each organisation's own RTW policies.

Colour Palette  |  Warm Autumn Glow
PRIMARY

SIGNAL YELLOW

#FCBF49
Safety, optimism, return-to-work identity. The lead colour across all touchpoints.
ANCHOR

DEEP NAVY

#003049
Tech credibility, trust, depth. The structural backbone of the brand.
ACCENT

VIVID ORANGE

#F77F00
Opposite DNA. Energy, action, warmth. Connects the project to the consultancy.
SUPPORT

TERRACOTTA

#B85042
Softened red for wellbeing context. Empathy without alarm.
BASE

CREAM WASH

#EAE2B7
Warmth, softness, readability. Background and breathing space.

WHY THIS PALETTE?   Yellow leads because it is the universal colour of safety and working life — hardwired into high-vis, caution signals, and workplace identity. Navy anchors the tech and AI dimensions. Orange carries the Opposite brand through. Terracotta replaces clinical red with something warmer, more human. Inspired by Warm Autumn Glow (Coolors).

What the Platform Does

Multi-Modal Interaction

Users interact via avatar, text-based chat, or guided buttons — ensuring accessibility across literacy and psychological readiness levels.

Managerial Dashboards

Strategic dashboards, predictive alerts, and automated summaries reduce admin burden and enable timely, empathic interventions.

RTW Knowledge Engine

Expert-curated clinical content, regulatory standards, and organisation-specific policies structured for AI delivery.

Scenario Simulation

Realistic RTW scenarios co-developed with psychologists. Workers and managers can rehearse difficult conversations safely.

Workplace Simulations

User modules model real workplace environments. Graded exposure activities help returning workers build confidence progressively.

Ethics and Safety

Ethics approvals via Murdoch University. Defined escalation protocols for AI-human handoffs. Data anonymisation throughout.
